Eskendereya Tops Latest NTRA 3YO Poll

Eskendereya moves to No. 1 on this week's NTRA poll of top 3-Year-Olds.

Zayat Stables’ Eskendereya  , the ultra-impressive winner of the April 3 Wood Memorial Stakes (gr. I), vaulted to the top of the NTRA 3-Year-Old poll that was released April 5. Lookin At Lucky  , who was an unlucky third in the Santa Anita Derby (gr. I), dropped from the top spot and is now ranked second.

The Santa Anita Derby winner, Sidney's Candy  , moved up from sixth position to third position on the poll conducted by racing officials and Turf writers.

Eskendereya, who won the Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth Stakes (gr. II) earlier in the year, garnered 16 of the 20 first-place votes. Lookin At Lucky received three first-place votes and Florida Derby (gr. I) winner Ice Box   received one.

In the national poll, Zenyatta remained on top (16 first-place votes) with Quality Road   second (four first-place votes), and Rachel Alexandra third. Zenyatta is slated to make her second start of the season April 9 in the Apple Blossom Handicap (gr. I) at Oaklawn.
