Borrego Sires First Winner
Grade I winner Borrego sired his first winner when his daughter Nina Fever won by eight lengths at Keeneland April 3. Nina Fever captured the 4 1/2-furlong race in :51.19 for Gatewood Bell and trainer Wesley A. Ward. Dennis Foster and John J. Greely IV are the breeders of Nina Fever. The Kentucky-bred filly is the fourth winner out of the winning Major Impact mare Impact Now. Winner of the 2005 Jockey Club Gold Cup (gr. I) and Pacific Classic Stakes (gr. I), Borrego (El Prado—Sweet as Honey, by Strike the Gold) stands for $10,000 at Wintergreen Stallion Station near Midway, Ky. The farm is owned by Greely and his brother, Beau.
