Grade I winner Sabona has been moved to Illinois Stud near Woodstock, Ill., where he will stand for $1,500. Formerly at Dr. William O. Reed's Mare Haven Farm near Lexington, Sabona (Exclusive Native--Hail Maggie, by Hail to Reason) has sired a dozen stakes winners. His three added-money winners of 2001 include graded stakes winner Bonapaw.

Sabona scored his major win in the 1989 Californian Stakes (gr. I) in track-record time of 1:46 4/5 for 1 1/8 miles, and he also ran second that year in three grade I stakes, including the Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT). He earned $861,844 in his career.
