John Sikura's Hill 'n' Dale Farms has purchased a 25% interest in major stallion Theatrical and announced a 2002 fee of $100,000 for him. Theatrical, who stood in 2001 for $80,000, arrived last week at Hill 'n' Dale with a group of other horses from Gerald Ford's Diamond A Farm near Versailles, Ky. The horses were transferred by order of the Allen E. Paulson Living Trust.
Nineteen-year-old Theatrical (Nureyev--Tree of Knowledge, by Sassafras) has sired 56 stakes winners. A leading turf sire, he is represented this year by grade I winners Astra and Startac; grade II winners Del Mar Show and Hap; and Canadian graded winner Strut the Stage.
