Christy West, former webmast and managing editor for The Horse, has been named the digital editor/producer of TheHorse.com. West will oversee the design and execution of a wide portfolio of digital information products dedicated to equine health.
West joined Blood-Horse Publications, publisher of The Horse, in October 2000 as managing editor. She held that position until 2006. From that time, West has worked as the webmaster of TheHorse.com, continuing to expand and improve the website’s offerings and services to hands-on horse owners. She has earned several awards from American Horse Publications during her time with The Horse, including first place electronic publication for The Horse.com in 2002.
“I’ve worked alongside Christy since she joined The Horse staff in 2000, and she has always had tremendous vision for The Horse.com,” said Stephanie L. Church, editor-in-chief of The Horse. “She works tirelessly to ensure that we’re meeting users’ needs as the technology advances, and through the years she has played an integral role in TheHorse.com’s growth as the leading Internet resource for hands-on horse owners and professionals. Christy’s passion for technology and its directions, her broad understanding of performance metrics and Web site usability, and her commitment to overall excellence are a great value to our team, and I’m thrilled she’s joining us in a full-time capacity.”
