The mutuel field, or "all others" option, was the solid 3-1 favorite to win the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) at the conclusion of the March 27 second day of wagering in Pool 3 of Churchill Downs’ 2010 Kentucky Derby Future Wager.
The mutuel field, which includes all 3-year-olds other than then 23 individual horses in the three-day pool, was followed in the wagering by 2-year-old champion Lookin At Lucky, the second choice at 5-1, and Eskendereya, a 6-1- risk.
A total of $120,365, which included $44,101 in exacta betting, has been wagered heading into the March 28 final day of wagering in Pool 3. KDFW betting will resume at noon (all times EDT), on Sunday, March 28 will conclude at 6 p.m.
Included in the mutuel field wagering option are the winners of two Derby prep races March 27 -- Mission Impazible, winner of the $750,000 Louisiana Derby (gr. II), and Dean’s Kitten, who took the $500,000 Lane’s End Stakes (gr. II).
The Derby Future bet is a $2 minimum "win" wager. The minimum wager for a straight exacta, which requires the bettor to select the Kentucky Derby’s top two finishers in the exact order of finish, is also $2, while the minimum for exacta boxes and wheels is $1. There are no scratches and no refunds in the Kentucky Derby Future Wager. If Churchill Downs determines that injury, illness or other circumstance will prevent the participation of any individual betting interest in the Kentucky Derby, wagering on that interest will be suspended.
