Discreetly Mine went gate to wire to win the Risen Star Stakes.

The $750,000 Louisiana Derby (gr. II) at Fair Grounds on Saturday, March 27, has drawn a field of 13, headed by Risen Star Stakes (gr. II) winner Discreetly Mine  .

Discreetly Mine, a 3-year-old Mineshaft   colt trained by Todd Pletcher for owner-breeder Paul Robsham, will break from post position seven as the 7-2 morning line favorite. In seven career starts, the colt has two wins and three seconds to his credit, including runner-up efforts in last year’s Champagne Stakes (gr. I) and Futurity Stakes (gr. II). He will be ridden by Javier Castellano.

Installed as the 4-1 second choice was A Little Warm, a Stormin Fever   colt trained by Anthony Dutrow for Virginia owner-breeder Edward P. Evans. The colt, who drew post five and will be ridden by David Cohen, also has two wins and three seconds to his credit in six starts. After breaking his maiden by 10 3/4 lengths in his fourth career start, A Little Warm took the Spectacular Bid Stakes at Gulfstream Park and followed with a second to D’ Funnybone in the Hutcheson Stakes (gr. II).

WinStar Farm’s Drosselmeyer  , who will be ridden by Kent Desormeaux for trainer Bill Mott, is the 5-1 morning-line third choice and will break from the outside 13 post. After breaking his maiden in his fourth career effort, the Distorted Humor   colt finished second, 1 3 /4 lengths behind winner Discreetly Mine, in the Risen Star.
