Ide was named 2009 stallion of the year by the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association. The award is based on the earnings of his accredited Louisiana-bred offspring ($2,231,521) during 2009. Owned by The Ide Group, Ide stands at Clear Creek Stud near Folsom, La.
The breeder of the year honors, based on the amount of breeders’ awards earned in the calendar year, will be given to to Ryder’s Ryder River Ridge Farm, which had earnings of $276,240.
Award presentations will be made at the LTBA’s annual meeting at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots June 5.
According to a release, the other honorees, which were determined by a vote of the LTBA membership, are as follows:
