Louisville Owner Bob Stallings Dies

Louisville owner Bob Stallings died Monday, March 15, at his home after battling brain cancer. Stallings, who never regained consciousness after undergoing surgery 10 days earlier, was 67.

“He loved horse racing,” trainer Dale Romans told the Louisville Courier-Journal. “He was a great guy to train for and liked all aspects of it, from cheap horses to stakes horses.”

Stallings was a member of the former Kentucky Racing Commission and chairman of its advisory equine drug research council during the administration of Gov. Paul Patton.

An attorney, Stallings regularly represented horsemen, jockeys, and veterinarians in legal matters.

Stallings is survived by his wife, Delynn; a son, Steve, and a daughter, Linda.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
