Blue Horse Charities Takes Grant Applications

Blue Horse Charities is now accepting grant applications for Thoroughbred adoptions made in 2009. Applications must be postmarked by April 1 to be considered. All applications will be reviewed by Blue Horse Charities and accredited by Thoroughbred Charities of America, the charitable arm of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association.

“Only 501 (c) (3) organizations that work to rehabilitate, retrain, and find homes for off-the-track Thoroughbreds will be considered for a grant,” said Erin Crady, executive director of Thoroughbred Charities of America, and the managing agent for Blue-Horse Charities, in a statement. “Blue Horse financially supports organizations that place Thoroughbreds with qualified adopters so they may embark upon their second careers.”

Blue Horse Charities grants are based exclusively on the number of Thoroughbreds placed into adoptive homes by a charity. To date, more than $1,261,000 has been granted to more than 70 accredited charities. To obtain a grant application or learn more about Blue Horse Charities please visit www.bluehorsecharities.org
