Desert Warrior, a multiple graded stakes-placed son of Deputy Minister, has been purchased by Randy Haffner for stallion duty at Don and Dana Myers’ Swifty Farms near Seymour, Ind. Desert Warrior formerly stood at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds near Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Ten-year-old Desert Warrior has sired stakes-placed runners Amalfi Drive, Cole T, Kiss and Fly, and Katskill Bay. He is represented by 46 winners and the earners of $2 million.
Desert Warrior is out of the Secretariat mare Navajo Pass a full sister to grade II winners Pancho Villa and Terlingua, dam of major sire Storm Cat. Navajo Pass also is a half-sister to major sire Royal Academy.
Desert Warrior will stand for $2,000 live foal; or $500 for stakes-placed or stakes-placed producing mares; or free to stakes winners or stakes producers.
