Catalano Saddles 2,000th Winner

Wayne Catalano

Trainer Wayne Catalano won his 2,000th race when he sent out Dunscombe to victory in the third race Hawthorne Feb. 24.

Catalano now has earnings of $36,077,886 from saddling a lifetime total of 9,694 horses. Catalano, who began training in 1983, scored his biggest recent victory with 2009 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) winner She Be Wild, who was later named champion 2-year-old filly.
