Princess Haya was named 2009 Texas Horse of the Year and champion female.

Princess Haya was named 2009 Texas Horse of the Year and champion female at the Texas Thoroughbred Association’s annual meeting and awards banquet Feb. 20.

Other state-bred honors went to:

Camille's Appeal, 2-year-old female

Oak Motte, 2-year-old male

City Tone, 3-year-old female

Valid Stripes, 3-year-old male

Talkin to Mom Roo, older male

Sally Slew, broodmare

Uncle Rose, claimer

Bill and Corinne Heiligbrodt, T.I. “Pops” Harkins Award
