Tattersalls Ireland Unveils Sales Bumper

Tattersalls Ireland is set to stage a €100,000 (about $135,500 USD) Bumper at the Fairyhouse Easter Festival in 2011 for graduates of this year’s Tattersalls Ireland Derby and August sales.

All 3 and 4-year-olds catalogued in the forthcoming Derby and August sales will be eligible to run in the Tattersalls Ireland Sales Bumper which will be run over two miles and worth a guaranteed €100,000.

“Our store sales are acknowledged market leaders and the new Tattersalls Ireland €100,000 Sales Bumper for graduates of the Derby and August sales adds another dimension to these two key fixtures in the National Hunt calendar,” said George Mernagh, managing director of Tattersalls Ireland, in a release. “In the current economic climate a new race offering prize money of this magnitude will not only catch the imagination of buyers at the Derby and August sales but also encourage vendors to have their horses more forward at the time of sale.”
