Trainer Eddie Milligan Sr. Dies

Trainer Eddie Milligan Sr. died Feb. 14 in Tyler, Texas. He was 66.

Milligan, who trained in Louisiana and Texas, sent out nine stakes winners, including four-time stakes winner Triple Card. Others he trained included Firebrat, winner of the Pan Zareta Stakes at Fair Grounds.

Milligan’s survivors include his wife, Sherry, and sons Allen and Eddie Jr. A trainer, Allen Milligan saddled four stakes winners in 2009. Eddie Jr. owns Twin Oaks Training Center near Athens, Texas.
