Turfway Park in Kentucky, Charles Town Races & Slots in West Virginia, and Philadelphia Park Casino & Racetrack in Pennsylvania canceled live racing for Feb. 7.

Turfway raced the evening of Feb. 5, but canceled its Feb. 6 program after almost five inches of snow fell overnight. The snow, coupled with falling temperatures, created problems for the Polytrack surface.

At 9 a.m. EST Feb. 7, the temperature was only 11 degrees with a wind chill.

Turfway, which races Fridays through Sundays, will add a live racing program for Monday President's Day, Feb. 15, to make up for one of the lost programs.

Charles Town and Philly Park, reeling from almost 30 inches of snow, had previously canceled live racing Feb. 5-6.

In California, heavy rain forced Santa Anita Park to cancel live racing Feb. 6. However, the Pro-Ride racing suface was back to normal as racing resumed with an early 11 a.m. PST firts post Feb. 7.
