Frost Giant’s first foal arrived at Empire Stud’s farm near Hudson, N.Y., Jan. 31. The chestnut colt is out of the Hickman Creek mare Apocalyptic. Apocalyptic is a half-sister to the dam of grade II winner Crafty C T and grade III-placed Carmen’s Baby.

Frost Giant  , a son of Giant's Causeway   out of the Gone West mare Takesmybreathaway, won the Suburban Handicap (gr. I) and two other stakes and earned more than $450,000. He retired to Empire Stud and stood his first season in 2009. His 2010 fee is $7,500.
