Douglas Anderson has joined Team Valor International to take over advertising, marketing, and promotion for the Kentucky-based Thoroughbred racing enterprise, it was announced Jan. 20.
Barry Irwin, owner of Team Valor, which forms racing partnerships, said, “I have known Doug since he was a youngster, as his father, Ron Anderson, has been a longtime friend. Doug has a great feel for the game, because he grew up in a household where his dad has been the agent for most of the great jockeys of the last 20 years. For Team Valor, Doug promises to widen the scope of our international and domestic operations, by using his skills and experience to find participants for our racing ventures.”
Anderson is the founder and CEO of Public Loans Corp. Earlier Anderson served in as vice-president of global sales for Tarmin Corp., an enterprise storage company. After being promoted to CEO, he oversaw all Tarmin’s global operations and continued with the company until securing venture funding for the company. Anderson also founded and served on the board of directors of Ensurelink, which developed encryption technology.
“Everybody understands the challenges the sport faces today with shrinking ownership,” Anderson said. “I have studied this and I think I know ways to reach an untapped part of the investment world and show them the excitement of racing through a vehicle with a 25-year record of success.”
