Foals by second-year stallion Bedford Falls may be eligible for a new incentive program valued at $125,000. Seven-year-old Bedford Falls (Forestry --Christmas in Aiken, by Affirmed) stands at Poplar Meadows near Sanger, Calif. His fee is $2,500.
Under the program, entitled “The $125,000 Bedford Falls Complete Bonus Package,” breeders and owners of Bedford Falls’ foals who accomplish certain racing milestones may receive cash awards of $5,000, $12,500, or $25,000 each, depending upon the levels of racing success by those runners.
Breeder(s) of first 10 runners by Bedford Falls to break their maiden: $5,000 bonus each;
Breeder of first runner by Bedford Falls to win a black-type stakes race: $12,500 bonus;
Breeder of first runner by Bedford Falls to win a graded stakes race: $25,000 bonus.
Owner of first runner by Bedford Falls to win a black-type stakes race: $12,500 bonus;
Owner of first runner by Bedford Falls to win a graded stakes race: $25,000 bonus.
Certain rules of eligibility and race qualifications apply.
Bedford Falls, a $1.1 million Keeneland September sale yearling, won or placed in 11 of 15 races and earned $115,620. He is a half-brother to grade I winner and successful young sire Harlan's Holiday.
