(from Gulfstream Park notes)
Lael Stable’s Kentucky homebred Lentenor , a full-brother to the ill-fated Barbaro, worked an easy half mile in :49 3/5 at Palm Meadows Jan. 16 in preparation for his next start for trainer Michael Matz.
Lentenor drew the inside post in a maiden special weight test Jan. 20, a 1 1/16-mile turf race at Gulfstream Park. Jockey Jose Lezcano was named to ride.
The son of Dynaformer out of La Ville Rouge will be making his third career start. He debuted with a third-place finish on Oct. 31 at Keeneland and then ran second by a half-length last out over the Aqueduct turf course on Nov. 28.
Barbaro captured the 2006 Holy Bull Stakes and Florida Derby (gr. I) at Gulfstream to remain undefeated before winning the Kentucky Derby (gr. I) that spring.
