(Edited Magic Millions press release)

The Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling auction ended Jan. 14 in Australia with 206 horses selling for a gross of Aust$2,458,850 ($2,269,420 in U.S. funds) during the sixth session. The average price was Aust$11,936 ($11,017), and the median price was $8,000 ($7,384). The clearance rate was 77.7%.

A Falvelon filly out of the winning Iglesia mare Precious Epic brought the last day’s top price of Aust$55,000 ($50,763). Helen Page purchased the bay yearling from Epic Farm.

“There was incredible value on offer at the sale today,” said Magic Millions managing director David Chester. “The buyers should be delighted with their purchases. There is no doubt that a number of those yearlings purchased today will race on with great distinction and give their connections a great return on their investment.”
