Antique Auction and her 2010 filly, one of the last foals sired by pensioned stallion Theatrical.

One of only two expected foals from the last crop by pensioned stallion Theatrical was born Jan. 11 at the new Padua foaling barn at Robert N. Clay’s Three Chimneys Farm near Midway, Ky. The newborn filly is out of the stakes-winning Geiger Counter mare Antique Auction and is a full or half-sister to five winners. The mare’s second-youngest offspring is a 2-year-old colt by Theatrical.

Bred in Ireland by Bertram and Diana Firestone, Theatrical (Nureyev--Tree of Knowledge, by Sassafras) earned a 1987 Eclipse Award as top grass male for Bertram Firestone and Allen Paulson. His major win came in that year’s Breeders’ Cup Turf (gr. IT). Twenty-eight-year-old Theatrical, who sired 81 stakes winners, is pensioned at John Sikura’s Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms near Lexington.
