The first reported North American foal by graded stakes winner Indygo Shiner is a colt born Jan. 8 at Summer Wind Farm near Georgetown, Ky. The farm is owned by Frank Lyon Jr. and his wife, Jane.
The newborn is the first foal out of grade I stakes-placed Jade Queen (by Giant's Causeway ).
Twelve-year-old Indygo Shiner (A.P. Indy—Navarra, by El Gran Senor) won the Jefferson Cup Stakes (gr. III). He stood at Haras La Quebrada in Argentina before starting his North American career in 2009 at John Sikura’s Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms near Lexington. Indygo Shiner, who has sired a dozen stakes winners, will stand in 2010 for $7,500.
