Equine Regenerative Medicine Conference Scheduled for 2010

The University of California, Davis, Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center, and Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital have teamed up to offer the first North American Veterinary Regenerative Medicine Conference. The conference will take place March 5-6, 2010, in Santa Ynez Valley, Calif.

The two-day conference consists of scientific presentations, live demonstrations, and discussion sessions on all aspects of stem cell therapy and regenerative medicine in horses and other animals.

"The intent of the conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss and apply this promising area of veterinary medicine," it was noted in the program.

Topics will be a blend of research and practical application, and the conference is open to all veterinarians, regenerative medicine researchers, and other interested professional medical personnel.

There also will be a live demonstration of stem cell collection techniques from bone marrow and fat and laboratory processing of bone marrow samples at the Alamo Pintado Center for Biological Medicine laboratory.
