Champion Action This Day will stand in 2010 at Dana Point Farm near Lenhartsville, Pa., for a fee of $3,500. He formerly stood at Castleton Lyons near Lexington.
“The team at Dana Point, led by owner Gayle Gerth and general manager Maria Vorhauer, have built up a very professional and efficient stallion operation,” said Shane Ryan, president of Castleton Lyons. “The Pennsylvania Breeders’ program provides tremendous opportunities for farms and breeders in that state and Dana Point’s roster of stallions is well equipped to capitalize on this.
"Action this Day was a brilliant winner of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile earning an Eclipse Award as champion 2-year-old, and he has the potential to work very well in Pennsylvania, as he is a most attractive horse with pedigree lines that should suit most mares.”
Nine-year-old Action This Day (Kris S.--Najecam, by Trempolino) won the 2003 Bessemer Trust Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (gr. I) at Santa Anita the year he was voted champion 2-year-old male. He has sired stakes winner Night Action and 2009 stakes-placed runners Rapid Release and Cracovia.
