Dogwood Stables announced the retirement of graded stakes winner

Tammy Gantt, current director of promotions at Calder Race Course has added the title of director of group sales to her resume. Gantt has headed up the promotions department since joining Calder in 1999. ...
Ellis Park in western Kentucky has raised purses for overnight races by 9%, effective immediately. Daily purses will now average $219,850, a record, for all programs with 10 or more races. Earlier in August, the track raised purses 5%. General manager Paul Kuerzi said strong on-track attendance and handle figures fueled the increases.
