Nominations to some of the leading North American sires will be available to benefit Thoroughbred Charities of America when the organization’s Stallion Season Auction begins Nov. 30 at 9 a.m.
Bids will be accepted via telephone through Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. EST. To participate in the auction, bidders must call the auction hotline, (302) 376-6289, register and place their bids.
The majority of the seasons will be sold during the telephone auction. However, 28 seasons will be placed in the live auction to be held on Friday, Dec. 4 at the Keeneland Entertainment Center in Lexington. The live auction will feature seasons to top stallions including A.P. Indy, Arch , Bernardini , Candy Ride , Distorted Humor , Dixie Union, Dynaformer, Giant's Causeway , Malibu Moon , Medaglia d'Oro , Smart Strike , Street Cry, Street Sense , and Tiznow , among others.
"We have an outstanding roster of stallions in the auction this year", said Erin Crady, executive director of TCA, said in a news release. "We greatly appreciate the generosity of our season donors; their generosity enables TCA to raise funds for distribution to many Thoroughbred charities."
In addition to the stallion seasons, live auction items will include an Andre Pater oil painting, a sports package featuring Kentucky vs. Louisville basketball tickets, an Ez-Go 2 + 2 Golf Cart, a Triple Crown Package, and a trip to Italy.
Ginny DuPont Suarez and Beverly Strauss of MidAtlantic Horse Rescue will be honored with the TCA Industry Service Award and TCA founders Herb and Ellen Moelis and the late Allaire duPont will be recognized.
