Tubbs Hired as Churchill Vice President of Sales

Churchill Downs as hired a vice president of sales who will oversee all sponsorship efforts for the Kentucky Derby and Oaks, as well as sales initiatives at all racetracks owned by Churchill Downs Inc.
Tyrone Tubbs, a native of Milwaukee, Wis., most recently served as director of corporate sponsorship for Major League Baseball Properties, where sponsorship revenue grew by 52% in 1998, his first year on the job, and another 39% in 1999. Tubbs oversaw negotiations to renew corporate sponsorships and recruited non-traditional companies.
Tubbs also has worked for Coca-Cola USA, Miller Brewing Co., Walt Disney Co., and Pepsi-Cola. In Kentucky, the company owns its flagship track, Churchill Downs; Ellis Park; and co-owns Kentucky Downs. It also owns Hoosier Park in Indiana, Arlington Park in Illinois, Hollywood Park in California, and Calder Race Course in Florida.
