Stiftung Gestut Fahrhof's Sabiango earned a half-length win over Boreal in Sunday's Credit Suisse Private Banking Pokal (Ger-I) at Cologne as Godolphin's Mutafaweq disappointed on the soft turf at the German track.

Sabiango, a 3-year-old colt, completed the 1 1/2 miles in 2:29.41 to improve his career mark to four wins from six starts. A chestnut Acatenango colt out of Spirit of Eagles, by Beau's Eagle, Sabiango won the 166 Oppenheim -- Union -- Rennen (Ger-II) in May before finishing second in his first group I attempt in June. Sabiango is trained by Andreas Woehler and was ridden to victory by Andreas Suborics.

Boreal finished a head in front of Belenus, with Passimo fourth. Mutafaweq, who doesn't seem to handle soft going, was eased and finished last in the eight-horse field, well over 30 lengths behind the winner.
