Carey's Gold, ridden by Roger Velez, led wire-to-wire in the open division's second race, beating Royal Lad by two lengths. Carey's Gold finished in 1:13.56 and paid $10.80, $5.60, and $4.20. Royal Lad returned $6.20 and $6.20, and Bog Hunter paid $6.40.Trainer Eddie Plesa Jr. said he's definitely pointing O'Rocky at the third division in the Florida Stallion Stakes series, the $125,000 Affirmed. Trainer Henry Collazo said his charge, Carey's Gold, is also pointed at the Sept. 1 race.
