Posse  , fifth on this year’s leading third-crop sire’s list, will stand in 2010 at Empire Stud near Hudson, N.Y. He stood in 2009 at Tom Simon’s Vinery near Lexington.

“We could not be more excited with the opportunity to stand Posse,” said Jamie LaMonica, president of Empire Stud. “He’s a proven stallion with a lot of speed, and he will be an asset to the New York breeding program.”

Posse’s 2009 progeny earnings are $3.3 million.

Posse's fee will be announced later.
