(Edited press release)
My Friend Max has been relocated from Elite Thoroughbreds to Averett Farm near Loranger, La. for the 2010 breeding season.
A 17-year-old son of Danzig, out of the Alydar mare Lassie’s Lady, My Friend Max is a full brother to Maryland sire Outflanker . My Friend Max has stood in Louisiana since 2001, after siring four champions from his first three crops in South America.
My Friend Max's 37 winners from 60 runners have earned more than $2.4 million. Nine runners have earnings more than $100,000.
In light of the recent economic downturn, and drop in auction yearling averages, Averett Farm will reduce My Friend Max’s 2010 fee to $1,750, or $1,500 payable Sept. 1, down from $2,500 in 2009.
