Eagle Oak Ranch and partners’ 4-year-old Allegre, the 50-1 outsider, has been scratched from the Nov. 7 Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Turf (gr. IT) at Santa Anita.
According to a Breeders’ Cup release, the son of Orientate did not go to the track to train Nov. 5, and trainer Brian Koriner notified officials that his horse has an abscess in his right front foot.
The defection leaves a seven-horse field for the $3-million, 1 1/2 mile turf test, with defending champion Conduit the 7-5 morning line favorite.
Allegre has won five of 11 starts and earned $83,320.
