Conduit and Red Rocks, the respective 2008 and 2006 winners of the Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Turf (gr. IT), are among the eight horses entered in the $3-million, 1 1/2 mile turf test.
Conduit, trained by Sir Michael Stoute for breeder-owner Ballymacoll Stud Farm, will break from the number two post position as the 7-5 morning line favorite. The Dalakhani colt, who has won or placed in nine of 11 starts and earned $3,748,096 racing on the grass, will be ridden by Ryan Moore, who rode the 4-year-old colt last year.
Although he is a previous winner of the Turf, Red Rocks is a 20-1 outsider in the race this year.
The 5-2 Turf second choice is Juddmonte Farms' homebred Spanish Moon, a multiple group winner in France for Stoute previous to the Turf. The son of El Prado has won five of 11 grass starts.
Presious Passion, a two-time grade I turf winner this year for trainer Mary Hartmann, is the 4-1 morning-line third choice.
