Undefeated Lookin At Lucky   drew the outside post 13 but was made the 8-5 morning-line favorite for the $2-million Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (gr. I) Nov. 7 at Santa Anita Park.

Owned by Mike Pegram and Watson and Weitman Performance and trained by Bob Baffert, the 2-year-old Smart Strike   colt enters the Juvenile off a useful victory in the Oct. 4 Norfolk Stakes (gr. I) on Santa Anita’s synthetic Pro-Ride surface. Lookin At Lucky had no problem with the 1 1/16-mile distance in his first start around two turns.

Garrett Gomez, aboard for all four of Lookin At Lucky’s races, has the call.

Second choice at 5-2 is Paul Pompa Jr.’s D' Funnybone  , a two-time grade II winner who makes his first start at the 1 1/16-mile distance. While Lookin At Lucky is four-for-four on synthetic surfaces, D’ Funnybone, who breaks from post five, will try it for the first time.

Trained by Rick Dutrow Jr. and to be ridden again by Edgar Prado, D’ Funnybone, by D'wildcat  , figures to be on or near the lead on the stretchout.

The co-third choices at 8-1 are Chasing Dreams Racing’s Noble's Promise  , winner of the Oct. 10 Breeders’ Futurity (gr. I) at 1 1/16 miles at Keeneland, and Dogwood Stable’s Aikenite  , who finished only a half-length behind Noble’s Promise in second in the Breeders’ Futurity. Both colts have performed well on the synthetic Polytrack surface.

The invaders from Europe are all high prices in the morning line but appear to be legitimate threats in their first starts around two turns. For instance, Radiohead, at 15-1 from post 11, won a group II stakes and placed in two group I events, all of them turf sprints. He’s by Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Johannesburg.
