As expected, Wertheimer and Frere’s homebred Interactif was made the favorite for the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (gr. IIT). The son of Broken Vow  , 4-1 on the morning-line, will face 11 rivals in the one-mile race Nov. 7 at Santa Anita.

Interactif, the lone two-time graded stakes winner in the field, drew post 11 and will be guided by regular rider Kent Desormeaux. The bay colt enters off consecutive grade III victories on the grass, the With Anticipation Stakes at Saratoga and Bourbon Stakes at Keeneland. In the latter, Interactif won despite coming from well off the pace and overcoming a wide trip on the soft turf course.
A trio of European-based 2-year-olds are next on the morning-line —Pounced (9-2), Buzzword (6-1), and Viscount Nelson (6-1). Godolphin’s Buzzword, from the barn of Saeed bin Suroor, is the lone group stakes winner of the three, having won the Sept. 6 Prix La Rochette (Fr-III) at Longchamp, but Pounced and Viscount Nelson are both coming off close runner-up efforts in top-rated stakes in Europe.
The only other horse with a morning line of less than double-digits is Bridgetown (8-1), winner of Woodbine’s Summer Stakes (Can-III) on Sept. 19. Ken McPeek trains the son of Speightstown  .
Also of note are a pair of entrants owned by Ken and Sarah Ramsey, both of them by first-year sire Kitten's Joy  . Kera's Kitten, undefeated in two starts, and Becky's Kitten, runner-up in the Summer Stakes, will break right next to each other, from posts 9 and 10, respectively. Dean's Kitten, also a Ramsey-owned horse by Kitten’s Joy, is the first also-eligible in the race.
The BC Juvenile Turf is the first of eight Breeders’ Cup races Nov. 7 and is slated for a 10:45 a.m. PDT post.
