Favored Tribal Belle led from gate to wire to take the $149,399 Ontario Fashion Stakes (VIDEO) by 3 1/4 lengths at Woodbine Nov. 1.
Canvasback Farm's homebred daughter of Tribunal threw down the gauntlet early, establishing splits of :21.92 and :44.64 over the Polytrack. In the stretch, she stayed on well for her fourth score of the season from five starts.
A 4-year-old filly bred in British Columbia, Tribal Belle zipped six furlongs in 1:08.84, finishing well clear of Glitter Rox. Porte Bonheur was a neck farther back in third.
"I was able to give her a breather around the turn," said winning jockey Jim McAleney. "She was very comfortable from the three-eighths pole to the quarter pole. She re-broke at the head of the stretch. She's got that talent where she has a high cruising speed. She's a powerhouse."
"She seems to show up all the time," said trainer Terry Jordan, who is winning at better than 40% for the Woodbine meet.
Tribal Belle has consecutive stakes wins after she won the Seaway (Can-III) by a neck Sept. 5. She earned $83,205 for her ninth lifetime win in 14 starts, boosting her total prize money to $411,785.
Tribal Belle returned $5.60, $2.90, and $2.30, combining with Glitter Rox ($4.90, $3.10) for a $29.70 exacta. Porte Bonheur ($2.50) rounded out a trifecta worth $66.10. Foxy Danseur finished fourth.
