Ballymacoll Stud has reached an agreement with Shigeyuki Okada of Big Red Farm in Japan to sell its homebred Conduit for stud duty. The Irish-bred son of Dalakhani will run next in the Nov. 7 Breeders’ Cup Turf (gr. IT), which he won last year on his way to earning an Eclipse Award as top male grass runner and two English championships. Conduit will race for Ballymacoll until the end of the racing season and then will complete his necessary tests for export to Japan.

Conduit, who is out of the Sadler’s Wells mare Well Head, won this year’s King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Eng-I) and last year’s classic Ladbrokes St. Leger (Eng-I) and the Betfair Gordon Stakes (Eng-III). Also this year, he twice faced 3-year-old sensation Sea The Stars, finishing third to him in the Coral Eclipse Stakes (Eng-I) and unplaced to him in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Fr-I) in his last start.

Trained by Michael Stoute, Conduit has won or placed in 11 of 13 races and earned $3,756,913. He will stand at Big Red Farm alongside grade I winner and Dubai champion Roses in May.
