Grade II stakes-placed Aeneas   sired his first winner when his daughter Venus Avenue won Oct. 26 at Zia Park for owners Brian Goodwin and Chris Seed. Venus Avenue captured the 5 1/2-furlong race by a neck in 1:08.

Bred in New Mexico by Richard and Connie Snyder, Venus Avenue is out of the winning High Brite mare Olympic Mettle and is a half-brother to stakes-placed Dome Shadows. His second dam is a half-sister to grade I winner Open Call.

Aeneas (Capote—Gone to Venus , by Gone West) stands at the Snyders’ Cedar Creek Ranch near Grenville, N.M. His 2009 fee was $2,500.
