The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association announced Oct. 22 that the American Graded Stakes Committee will begin using customized Thoro-Graph reports in addition to its other statistical measurements as part of the materials for the 2009 grading session. The committee will next meet on Dec. 2 in Lexington for its annual grading session

The reports that will be used in the graded stakes committee's work will include a Thoro-Graph rating showing the overall strength of each race renewal in the grading review based on Thoro-Graph’s proprietary figure-making formulas and data, as well as a five-year average of those ratings for each race to give the committee members a Thoro-Graph profile over time, according to a release from TOBA.

Thoro-Graph provides performance ratings and other handicapping data to trainers, owners, professional handicappers, and media racing analysts.

TOBA, based in Lexington, Ky., was formed in 1961 and is a national trade organization for Thoroughbred owners and breeders. TOBA manages the American Graded Stakes Committee, Sales Integrity Program, The Racing Game, and Claiming Crown. Thoroughbred Charities of America is the charitable arm of TOBA. TOBA is also the owner of The Blood-Horse, Inc.
