A native of East Greenbush, N.Y., Straight was seriously injured in a race at Arlington Park on Aug. 26. He is currently at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.

Admission to the event is $50 and includes Hors d’Oeuvres, live music, and additional entertainment. A silent auction, raffles, games and a cash bar will be available with proceeds going towards Michael Straight’s medical costs.

Reservations for the benefit are encouraged and can be made at slapshotracing@comcast.net. Tickets are also available at the door the night of the event. Philly G’s is located at 1252 E. Highway 45 in Vernon Hills.
