Warrior's Reward finished fifth in yesterday's Perryville Stakes at Keeneland.

(Edited Keeneland press release)

Warrior's Reward  , who ran fifth as the favorite in the Perryville (gr. III) Oct. 17 at Keeneland in Central Kentucky, was tentatively scheduled to return to trainer Ian Wilkes’ barn at Churchill Downs late Oct. 18.

Jockey Calvin Borel jumped off Warrior’s Reward before bringing the colt back to be unsaddled after the race.

“He seems fine. The vets took X-rays yesterday and they showed nothing,” said Margaret Dunleavy, an assistant to Wilkes, the morning of Oct. 18. “He stayed here last night and he will be X-rayed again today and if I get the OK, he will go back (to Churchill) tonight. Calvin knows the horse and he was just erring on the side of caution. Hopefully the horse just took a bad step.”
