John Sykes’ stallion Alke has been sold and will stand at Sawangjai Farms in Thailand in 2010. The 9-year-old son of Grand Slam had been standing at Dr. Tom Simon’s Vinery near Summerfield, Fla.

Alke, an earner of $619,385, scored in the 2004 Deputy Minister Handicap (gr. III) at Gulfstream Park. He also finished second in the 2002 Iroquois Stakes (gr. III) at Churchill Downs, 2003 Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn Park, and 2004 Gulf News Dubai Golden Shaheen (UAE-I).

Alke’s offspring include the winners Sweet Like Sugar, who finished second in this year’s Catcharisingstar Stakes at Calder Race Course, and Trysting, who was third in this year’s Fantasia Stakes at Louisiana Downs.
