Lies Named Hialeah Track Announcer

John Lies will be the track announcer for the upcoming Quarter Horse racing season at Hialeah Park in Florida.

“John’s one of the finest of the new generation of track announcers. We’re very pleased to have him with us”, said Randy Soth, Hialeah's vice president and general manager.

Lies, 33, the track announcer at Lone Star Park and Kentucky Downs, is set to close out the Quarter Horse season at Lone Star before joining the Hialeah team.Lies has also been part of the in-house television team at Del Mar for the last several seasons, acting as a paddock show host and as an analyst for TVG.

“I’m happy and very excited about joining the Hialeah team," Lies said. "It should be fantastic being part of the rebirth of such a historic and beautiful place. Of course, spending the winter in South Florida won’t hurt either! I just can’t wait”

Hialeah is scheduled to reopen Nov. 28 when it begins conduting its first Quarter Horse racing season.
