Manuel Andrade has acquired complete interest in multiple graded stakes winner Two Step Salsa from Godolphin Racing and will stand him at his Get Away Farm near Reddick, Fla. The 4-year-old son of Petionville will stand for $5,000.
Two Step Salsa won or placed in nine of a dozen races and earned $1,104,040. Initially campaigned by breeder/owner Jeff Nielsen’s Everest Stables and trained by Julio Canani, Two Step Salsa captured two stakes and placed in three others in the Everest silks.
As 3-year-old in 2008, he captured the Lazaro Barrera Memorial Stakes (gr. II) and the Affirmed Handicap (gr. III) in consecutive starts at Hollywood Park and then ran second in the Swaps Stakes (gr. II) at Hollywood, with grade I winner Colonel John finishing third. He closed out the year with a third-place effort in the TVG Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile.
Two Step Salsa raced this year for Godolphin, founded by Sheikh Mohammed. He captured the Godolphin Mile Sponsored by Etisalat (UAE-II) and finished fourth in the True North (gr. II) and Salvator Mile (gr. III) Handicaps.
Two Step Salsa, a grandson of Seeking the Gold, is out of the Seattle Slew mare Two to Waltz. The Seeking the Gold/Seattle Slew cross is responsible for grade I winner Cape Town and French champion Seeking the Pearl.
