Peek a Blue Too, a colt by Placid Fund out of the Bayou Hebert mare Lucky Bayou, topped the second day of the Breeders Sales Co. of Louisiana yearling sale Sept. 29.

Philip Henderson purchased the full brother to Fass Feat, a stakes winner of $293,245, for $40,000. The colt was consigned by Clear Creek Stud, agent.

A colt and a filly each brought $55,000 to top the first session of the two-day sale. The sale was expanded to two days this year because of interest on the part of consignors and buyers, sale officials said. More than 400 horses were cataloged.

Final totals for the second day weren’t immediately available. The sale company reported 128 horses were sold Sept. 28 for a total of $1,054,500, an average price of $8,238, and a $5,000 median. There were 69 horses that did not sell because they did not surpass their reserves.

During a one-day sale in 2008, 171 horses grossed $2,086,300. The average price was $12,201 with a median of $6,000. There were 87 RNAs last year.
