LA Stallion Lydgate Sires First Winner

Graded stakes winner Lydgate sired his first winner when his son Bon Ami Pete won Sept. 24 at Retama Park in his initial start. The colt won the five-furlong race by 4 3/4 lengths in :58.85. He races for breeder/trainer Shawn Davis in partnership with John J. Smith.

A Louisiana-bred out of the Hey Rob mare Holly D,, Bon Ami Pete is a half-brother to unbeaten multiple stakes winner Handsomchamp.

Lydgate (Pulpit—Mariuka, by Danzig) stands at Jay Adcock’s Red River Farms near Coushatta, La. His 2009 fee was $2,000.
