Roman Ruler Gets First Stakes Winner

Seattle Ruler pulls away in the Barretts Juvenile Stakes.

Roman Ruler   picked up his first stakes winner Sept. 20 when Seattle Ruler won the 6 1/2-furlong Barretts Juvenile Stakes by three lengths at Fairplex Park.

The $108,350 stakes was the sixth start for Seattle Ruler, who is out of Decades of Style (by A.P. Indy). Todd Sheehan of Kentucky bred the colt who is now owned by Stan Carey, Bill O’Connor, and Mike Harrington Trustee. Harrington trains the colt, who he bought for $27,000 out of the 2008 Barretts October Fall Yearling sale. Seattle Ruler has finished in the money three times and has career earnings of $84,433.

Roman Ruler stands at Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms. His 2009 stud fee was $20,000.
