Coolmore shuttle stallion Danehill, who is gearing up for another Southern Hemisphere breeding season in Australia, topped both the general and 2-year-olds list by Australian progeny earnings. From Aug. 1 of last year through July 31 of this year, Danehill (by Danzig) chalked up the earners $7,796,263, of which $2,663,185 was earned by his 2-year-olds. No. 2 on the general list was Scenic (by Sadler's Wells), with the earners of $5,619,710, followed by Brief Truce (by Irish River), with $4,382,945.Danehill, who stands the Northern Hemisphere breeding season at Coolmore in Ireland, has sired a career total of 152 stakes winners. In the 2001 calendar year, and that means since Jan. 1, he is represented by 30 stakes winners, including group I winners in Australia, South Africa, Hong Kong, England, and France.
