Hip 141, a half-brother to dual champion Ashado, was bought by agent Demi O'Byrne for $925,000 during the first session of the Keeneland September sale.

A half-brother to dual champion Ashado was bought by agent Demi O’Byrne for $925,000, which is the top price so far during the first session of the Keeneland sale Sept. 14.

Consigned as Hip No. 141  by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent on behalf of Aaron and Marie Jones, the Unbridled's Song   colt was produced from stakes-winning Mari's Book mare Goulash. Goulash has produced three stakes winners, including Ashado, the two-time champion filly whose $9-million price once was a record for a broodmare or broodmare prospect sold at public auction. Goulash is also the dam of grade I winner Sunriver and grade III winner Saint Stephen.

O’Byrne, who buys for the Irish-based Coolmore Stud group, said the colt’s pedigree was among the traits that attracted him to the colt. He declined to say whether the colt will be kept in the U.S, or sent to Europe to race.
